【Gourmet blog】“Hot cake” , Japanese pancake at “Tsubaki Salon” in Ginza!

Hi! Guys!

Today, this is a short gourmet blog !

北海道ほっとけーき

In Japan, pancakes are called ”hot cakes”, so we write ”Hot cake” here!

I see..

I hope this blog is helpful for you as you consider going to 'Tsubaki Salon' in Ginza.

when I was in Tokyo…

That day was the last day of my stay at a business hotel in Tokyo, and the Shinkansen would depart after 2:00 p.m.

Umm, it's a back day to Osaka, but it's just 10:00 in the morning now, so I have a little time.

That's right.
You have a little time before you leave.

So, since I was in Tokyo, I decided to try the fluffy “hot cake” that I often saw on TV or YouTube.

Great!

So, I quickly searched web and found some candidates for cafes!

However, my first candidate cafe had a “complicated system” that only allowed reservations on the web, so it was difficult to eat in time to get to Tokyo Station!

Ah, I see.
But why did you choose "Tsubaki Salon" in Ginza?

That's because “Tsubaki Salon” only had “Hot cakes” in the menu, which I thought was absolutely delicious.

Ah, I see.
They have the confidence in their "hot cakes", huh?
That's a nice idea!👍

I was interested in the “the confidence” of a cafe that could make that only one “hot cake” in menu, so I immediately headed to Ginza.

About “Tsubaki Salon" in Ginza

You can see the web in Japananes→椿サロンサイト

”Tsubaki Salon” has several branches, not only in Ginza.

The pancakes here seem to be made with 100% Hokkaido( chemical seasoning-free) ingredients, and the most famous food log rating web in Japan was at 3.47.

It is quite difficult to get a rating of 3.5 or higher on this rating web.

So, Ginza in June was reasonably hot, so I was chosing a shady spot on the road and relied on Google Maps to find the location of the restaurant!

→Google map!

This restaurant is a little bit of hard to find, and I arrived there after passing by it once.

The video might make it easier to find it...

Ah, this restaurant is a little hard to find, isn't it?

Right!!

That restaurant is on the third floor of a small building!

This is what it looks like when you get off the elevator.

The building has a retro atmosphere.

Entring the restaurant!

So from the outside, you can't see much of what's going on inside the restaurant.

When I fearfully opened the door, I found a grand piano in the middle of the restaurant!
There was a fashionable café space spreading out!

Sounds good!

Reading through web reviews, this restaurant was like a hideaway.

Oh, the restaurant is the best for you!

Yes, but I didn't have a reservation.
So I was shown at a big desk in the restaurant, surrounded by a grand piano.

I was lucky to get into this restaurant without waiting.

Reading through web reviews, it seems to be very crowded on weekends.

Ah, I knew it..

Ordering!

A young female waitress took my order.

The menu shows that “Hot cake” starts at 1,880 yen.

Ah, that's Ginza prices!

Deffinetly😅

I looked in the menu and compared it with the others, but decided to order the banana with choko-charamel for an additional 100 yen.

ほっとけーきのメニュー

This restaurant had not only sweets, but also meal-based “hot cakes” as well.

Ah…
That's not so sweet, is it?

The meal-based hot cakes seemed to take longer to prepare.

お食事系のほっとけーき

I ordered an additional iced coffee (970 yen).

Drinks

If you order with pancakes, you will receive a 200 yen discount.

A hot cake and iced coffee costs almost 3,000 yen!

That's Ginza price😅

Enjoy "hot cake"!

The iced coffee was served immediately.

Iced coffee

I really like hot coffee, but it was hot that day, so I choosed iced coffee.

Iced coffee

The aroma of coffee and its a little bitterness heal my tired body.

Sounds good👍

Banana!

The banana with choko-charamel was served!

バナナ

They cut bananas and stack them up like totem poles.

Looks delicious.

The bottom was covered with something like milk pudding, but firm and hard.

I looked at the menu and it said ”Hokkaido Milk Blancmange”.
When I tried it, the caramel sauce was sweet.

Great👍

The banana made me quite full.

I enjoyed sweets in Ginza.

Hot cake!

At last, the “Hot cake” was served!

Hot cake!

It is topped with banana chips and a whipped cream.

There are two tiers of pancakes, which are also very generous.

It was the inside of the hot cake in below.

ほっとけーき

Gentle on the palate. Fluffy, but it filled my stomach.

I don't think banana chips would be a good match for the hot cakes.

Bill and my impressions!

The total bill was ¥2,700!

My impression was that it is delicious, but I don't think I need to go all the way to Ginza to go to this restaurant.

I see..

But the hot cakes were delicious, the restaurant was quiet, and the seating was spaciously laid out.

So I think the restaurant is suitable for a quiet reading and tasting pancakes slowly!

If you want to have a good seat, it is advisable to make a reservation.

Thank you for reading to the end!
